The world needs animals.
Great to have you here and curious to know who's behind all this! I’m Sandra Kolondam, the creative mind behind ZOOZANY – bringing you my illustrative, painterly, and often humorous animal world.
Painting animals is the culmination and essence of a long artistic journey that I have been on for many years. It may sound simple, but sometimes the most obvious things are the hardest to find.
I have been passionate about drawing and painting for as long as I can remember. Many years ago, I completely changed my life: I quit my job in marketing management, studied painting and devoted myself entirely to art. My journey of discovery took me through various styles - from large-format works to a wide variety of themes and abstraction. But I always returned to what had inspired me as a child: nature and the world of animals.Today, I combine this passion with the knowledge I have gained over the years in painting, techniques and materials and also with humor.
As the daughter of a German mother and an Indonesian father, I grew up biculturally and also have a great enthusiasm for the tropical forests of our planet. Lush green vegetation bursting with life and its inhabitants - whether in reality or in mythological tales - inspire me time and time again.
My studio is located in Tiefenbach, just outside Landshut. Here I work together with my husband Klaus Soppe, who is also a freelance painter. With the inspiring city of Landshut, the home of my grandmother and her siblings, the Isar river and the beautiful countryside behind me, I find everything I need for my creative work.

HAND PAINTED.
All paintings are personally executed by me, from the draft to the finished painting, 100% by hand. Over the years, I have acquired a lot of knowledge about the relationship of colors, techniques, and generally about the material I work with. I apply this in every single painting that emerges on my easel, with the aim that people who buy my paintings will enjoy their unique piece for many decades!
After many years of freelance work, I can look back on many stages, with various exhibitions and also public commissions. If you want to know more about it, you will find detailed information in my vita.
